A class for complete beginners, or those who have just made a start. We will explore the exciting world of making your own paintings, and how to have fun doing it! We will talk about how to paint from life, still life, and photos. In the course of six 2.5 hour sessions, we will talk about, demonstrate, and try for ourselves: materials, color mixing, composition, and learning to see as an artist.

1-2 medium drawing pencils
8”x10” pad of drawing paper, and
any oil painting supplies you may already have
In the first class, we will discuss what materials are needed for the remaining classes. If you do not have any oil painting materials, you should anticipate buying them (costs range from $75 upwards).

Instructor: Bob Stradling, Pastor of Vision Fellowship at the First Baptist Church of Malvern, paints mostly to have fun, but he has also sold many paintings in a blend of realist/impressionist styles. Bob has studied with Jon Redmond and Anne Graham, and several of his paintings can be seen exhibited in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
