Dear Malvern Arts Subscriber,
“The only thing better than singing is more singing.”
(Ella Fitzgerald)
As we celebrate this festive season, please consider making a year-end donation to help us grow the Malvern Arts Community Choir. Maybe you saw us perform at Malvern’s Christmas on King event at Burke Park over Thanksgiving weekend; if so, you know we made a joyful noise with sweet harmonies! If not, you are welcome to attend a rehearsal (contact me for details).
The choir has 16 people who’ve been meeting twice a month since February 2023, and more have expressed interest in joining in 2024. Our members are from Malvern, Coatesville, West Chester and Philadelphia. Our director, Renee Robinson-Way, drives out from Philly to work with us.
Members contribute $20/month to participate. These dues cover our current expenses: the director’s fees, rent for our rehearsal spaces (St. Paul AME Church or Ann Schmitt Florals when the church has an event), and sheet music.
Renee is accepting less than her usual rate to help us create something meaningful in the community, and she is certainly worth much more. Her leadership, musicianship, and ability to bring out the best in every singer of every level make singing in the choir an uplifting experience.
Your tax-deductible donation of any amount will help sustain us as we grow the Malvern Arts Community Choir to be a resource for community gathering and a boon to both its members and its audiences.
Thank you, and Happy Holidays,
Leora Marion, Program Coordinator, Malvern Arts
